Outgoing  officer extends kindness to IDPs

An outgoing military officer, Lt. Colonel Peter Elayo has made some donations to internally displaced persons in Borno.


Elayo, who is the outgoing commanding officer of 152 Battalion, 21 Brigade Nigerian Army, stationed in Banki, Bama Local Government donated  'a complete barbing saloon, a tailoring shed, two sets of football kits and a power generating set'


According to Second Lieutenant Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, who issued the release, 'the donation was in line the civil military activities aimed at ameliorating the plight of the internally displaced persons in Banki Camp'


Oteh noted that the outgoing officer who was redeployed to Army Headquarters, Department of Training and Operations, urged the IDPs to continue to be law abiding citizens and report any suspicious movement to relevant authorities. 


The statement also added that the beneficiaries, expressing their happiness, also commended the military for the sacrifices made in bringing peace to Bama and the North East.
