Dapchi attack: Let's not allow the enemy to control the narrative

The abduction of school girls in Dapchi, headquarters of Bursari local government in Yobe by Boko Haram last Monday is, by the day, becoming more and more shrouded in confusions and controversies.

The government of the state issued over three statements in less than 24 hours on the issue--at first claiming, then denying and finally apologising. They all ended in creating more confusion and disappointments. The first statement noted that over 50 of the girls could not be accounted for, giving some credibility to media accounts earlier that at least 90 of them were missing following the attack.
